The Choctaw's

The Choctaw Tribe originated in the Mississippi Area. They are a big tribe with over 200,000 members. They currently live in the Oklahoma area and are a federally recognized tribe. However, they originated from the Mississippi Area. This is because of the Trail of Tears affected where they lived. The Trail of Tears was an act passed by Andrew Jackson in 1930 that mandated that all southern tribes (including the Choctaw's) were to be moved farther West. Of course, this didn't sit well with most tribal members and so when the day arrived to move, there was a lot of resistance. Be it from words, hand motion, to even some fighting until death. Eventually, these protests would be futile and they would be kicked off of their land leaving these fierce warriors, skilled traders, and excellent farmers to have to leave the land they called home.

Following the Trail of Tears, the Choctaw Tribe had to slowly rebuild itself and they did so by establishing a new government and community. However, this wouldn't last long as when allotment came, the Choctaws were disbanded and they became members of Oklahoma. However, during the 1970s, a law was passed that allowed the tribe to breath with new life as a free tribe federally recognized as their own. The Choctaw's history surprisingly coincides with the Irish as most events that happened to both nations were similar events in a similar time frame. Because of this, the Choctaw and Irish have become good friends. Throughout the Choctaw's history, one thing has remained clear, their willingness to survive and persevere is something unnatural. No matter what situation they are faced with, they continue to rebuild and survive.
